How does it work?
Arranging your Gentle Hands groom couldn't be easier. Reach out through the contact button on this website, or call or WhatsApp 07776 716 716. I will arrange to call you back for your telephone consultation and to schedule the groom.
The great news is all introductory grooms are just £50!
When we have arranged a date and time, I will come to you. All I need from you is somewhere reasonably level to park, access to a plug socket and your dog! Don't worry if your parking access isn't directly outside, my cable is long so we have flexibility.
Your first groom will be an assessment groom. It may take longer than a groom would usually take as I take the time to build a relationship with your dog to set him up for successful future grooms with my force and fear free methods. As well as making sure your dog looks great, I will use the introductory groom to get to know your dog and assess his coat type and temperament. This will allow me to recommend a grooming schedule and approach going forwards.
And once the groom is finished, no pesky pick ups. I will return your dog to your front door, looking fabulous.
Payment is due upon completion of the groom, by cash or bank transfer.

Simply reach out through the contact button on this website, or WhatsApp 07776 716 716, leaving your name, location, contact details and dog's name. I will contact you to suggest a time for our telephone consultation.
Telephone consultation
In your telephone consultation I will ask you to tell me about your dog. I will ask about breed, coat type, skin sensitivities, temperament and any health issues. I will use this information to ensure your dog's groom is tailored to his needs.
The groom comes to your front door
At the scheduled time, I will arrive in my custom van. All you need to provide is somewhere fairly level to park and access to a plug socket. I will come to your door to collect your dog, or you are welcome to walk your dog to the door of the van.
The Introductory Groom
Each session is tailored to your dog's specific needs, allowing for individualised attention and care that is often not possible in traditional grooming environments. The introductory groom may take longer than usual, as I take my time building trust and confidence with your dog.
Scheduling future appointments
Having assessed your dog's coat type and temperament during the introductory groom, I will recommend a grooming schedule tailored to your dog's needs. We will discuss how your dog did during his groom, the schedule and cost going forwards. We will then schedule your next appointment/s.
Payment
Payment is due on the day of the groom, when I return your dog to you. I welcome cash payments or bank transfer. Bank transfer must be an instant transfer using a banking app.

With over three decades of canine experience, it's safe to say dogs are my passion! I have recently transitioned from grooming salons in North London to launch Gentle Hands Mobile Dog Grooming in Surrey. I am City and Guilds certified, Canine First Aid trained, and 100% comitted to grooming with kindness, putting the wellbeing of the dogs I work with first.
My personal dogs
When I'm not in the grooming van you will find me spending time with my beloved personal dogs. Walking, training, playing and snuggling.
Competition Obedience
On weekends you will often find me in the ring at Competition Obedience dog shows with Meredith, my Border Collie, Keep an eye on my Facebook page to keep up with her achievements!
The Labradors
My two Labradors, Kali and Diana, are mother and daughter. Diana is home bred and I enjoy producing the occasional litter of quality working line labs.

Your dog will feel calm and secure as we carry out each step without the use of tight restraints or harsh handling techniques.
After setting the stage for a comfortable experience, we start with a gentle bathing session using high-quality, hypoallergenic products that are safe for your dog’s skin. Once your dog is clean, we meticulously dry them off, ensuring both their warmth and comfort.
Following the bath, we proceed to the grooming itself—this may include trimming, brushing, nail clipping, and ear cleaning, all handled with care and expertise. Our professional groomer pays close attention to each detail, ensuring a groom that aligns with your wishes and your dog’s individual anatomy. Finally, we wrap up with a finish that leaves your dog looking and feeling their best, all while maintaining a stress-free environment that's tailored for success.
